Zur Vorgeschichte siehe How It Began

The painting "On this Foreign Field - Liberator Harry Moore" by Josef Schützenhöfer was started in 2007. Upon its completion it was submitted together with a dedication as a gift to the town Pöllau under certain conditions. The mayor noted that the legislative body could possibly consider a temporary display of the painting for the duration of two weeks. This being unacceptable led Josef Schützenhöfer to withdraw his offer.

In the same year, the Styrian conservative coalition party ÖVP purchased the painting for their permanent art collection. The sale was realized under the condition that the American Air Force veteran Dr. Robert Otto, who survived the crash of a B-24 in Pöllau in 1944, would be invited to Austria. Dr. Robert Otto visited Pöllau in October of 2008.
