This memorial object was designed by Douglas Hoagg and built with the support of the Kaindorf high school students and their teacher Mr. Franz Brugner. It was positioned on the actual crash site of Harry Moores’ plane at Rabenwald (near Pöllau) and was celebrated by local eyewitnesses, and the American Air Force attaché, Lt. Col. Richard McCleary. Representatives of the town of Pöllau refused to attend.
